Work Sharp Tools, makers of manual and powered sharpeners and sharpening products, has teamed up with renowned knife maker and designer Ken Onion, to produce a new handheld power sharpening system: the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener Ken Onion Edition (model WSKTS-KO).
The corded machine features variable speed control (1,200 to 2,800 SFM) and a triggered design, with a pistol style handle. A 3/4- x 12-in. flexible abrasive belt delivers the sharpening action, which can be achieved either by pulling a knife past a pair of sharpening guides, or by applying the sharpener’s belt to larger edges, such as axe heads or lawnmower blades.
Work Sharp assures that this system can sharpen virtually any blade you own, whether it’s pocket, hunting, serrated or kitchen knives, scissors or other tools, including all shapes of blades. Its sharpening guide can be set to produce convex beveled edges ranging from 15 to 30 degrees, with adjustability achieved by turning a dial.
Designed, engineered and assembled in Ashland, Oregon, the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener Ken Onion Edition comes with a complete set of abrasive belts to cover both grinding and honing stages. It is available now through Work Sharp’s online store and sells for $149.95.
