It’s here! That time of year when woodworking editors suddenly become very popular. Well, at least with all the tool companies. Every summer these major tool manufacturers have tool conferences to reveal what they have been working on in the deep dark dungeons of their research and development departments. And who do they want to find out about these new tools … you, our readers. So they quietly tell us editors about them in strictest confidence and trust that we can’t keep our mouths closed.
Recently I went to visit the Skil manufacturing plant in Herber Springs, Arkansas, for just such a conference. They are rolling out a whole new line of circular saws (you may even call them “skil saws”) and several other interesting items (more on that in our next eZine). Look for similar news from Craftsman, JET, Porter-Cable, Delta, Ryobi and DeWalt soon. All that before the major woodworking shows get underway in August. Keep tuned to the Woodworker’s Journal eZine over the coming months and you’ll get the first look at all the newest stuff. Come to think of it, that would make me popular with you AND the tool companies.
I like this time of year!
