I am a retired plumber here in British Columbia, and do a lot of woodworking projects to keep myself occupied. I have read about lubricating wood screws in many of your issues. What have used for many years is toilet bowl wax! Some call it a setting seal. All you have to do is insert your screw into the seal, and you have a lube that works great and doesn’t stain your wood or effect your staining or finish.
