The walnut wine cabinet was inspired by the metal doors, with the arch above. It was a wall hanging. I ground off the welds and hinged the doors. The back and sides are plywood, with the sides covered with walnut. The arch of the frame, front and back, was made as one piece, out of small, rectangular segments. Then I band sawed it into an arch, then split it with the band saw for front and back. The sides, back and top are all glued into rabbets. The top is actually flat segments, not curved. I routed stenciled designs into the drawers and doors. It will hold 48 bottles of wine.
The oak dresser was just finished for my son-in-law. It is all “free” oak. It’s 6ft wide and one small drawer higher than a standard dresser. Top and bottom are 3/4″ oak veneered plywood. The back and drawer boxes are 1/2″ cabinet plywood. All drawers are on bottom edge mount, epoxy coated slides…you know…the lowest cost slides.
