Is Nothing Sacred?
As many of you know by now, last night the TMZ network published nude photos, allegedly of woodworking celebrities Michael Dresdner and Sandor Nagyszalanczy — both long-time members of the Woodworker’s Journal team.
Pointing to the source of the leak as an “effete East Coast woodworking publishing house,” TMZ cowered behind the flimsy excuse of the 1st Amendment, claiming the public has a right to know who is teaching them how to make sawdust. “I’m sure they are men enough to take this,” said TMZ spokesperson Veritas Nongrattia, “And as the photos clearly demonstrate they are indeed … men.”
I don’t know about you, but the fact that this sort of smarmy story has besmirched the woodworking world really burns my shorts. I know both these guys and they told me they never took the photos, at least not when they were sober. At the time of publishing, we have received three very upset emails about the images.
Rob Johnstone, Woodworker’s Journal
P.S. A correction: two of the emails noted above responded and said “Never mind, that’s not what we were upset about. Sorry.”
