I was given some walnut that had been stored in a friend’s home attic for 35 years to dry. Due to his physical conditions, mobility was getting to be an issue for him. The walnut was rough cut. Once planed and cut for straight edges I was able to see the beauty of the wood’s gain. My wife was wanting a cabinet to store various objects safe from the grandbaby. Since walnut is very expensive here in Texas, it is not used very often except as decorative trim pieces. However, this walnut and my wife’s order for a curio cabinet just begged to be combined. The picture of the cabinet is the result. The entire cabinet, except for the glass, is made from solid walnut (no plywood). The cabinet stands 7 feet tall.
