Using Leftover Sawdust in the Garden

Be careful adding sawdust to the garden. Sawdust uses up the available nitrogen as it decomposes. Your plants will suffer in the short term. It works OK if you add a high nitrogen content fertilizer at the same time. I learned this only after several bad experiences using sawdust as mulch.
