I got the idea for this turned basket from one of my wife’s Longaberger baskets. Alternating the grain orientation of the white ash created a pretty cool woven effect. The top rim and base have some bent-wood rings that fit into rabbets and trimmed down to cover the edges. This took a couple of weeks in between other projects.
It is protected with a food-safe “salad bowl” finish and currently in service as a bread basket.
