DeWALT® might seem like an unlikely source for specialty woodworking hand saws, but three new yellow-and-black offerings could come in quite useful for cutting tenons, flush-trimming dowels and other projects or DIY cutting tasks. All three saws feature heat-inducted steel blades for durability and ergonomic, overmolded handles for comfort. The first, DeWALT’s Flush Cut Reversing Backsaw (model DWHT20000; $10.99) has a reversible, 14 teeth per inch (TPI) blade. Its offset handle with rigid spine can be switched for left- or right-handed use and provides extra clearance for knuckles. Also at a fine-cutting 14 TPI, the Single Edge Pull Saw (model DWHT20215; $13.99) has a flexible blade to help make flush trimming easier. Or, consider the added versatility of DeWALT’s new Double Edge Pull Saw (model DWHT20216; $22.99). One edge of its blade features 14 TPI for fine cuts, and the other edge is 7 TPI for making faster, coarse cuts. All three saws are available now through home centers and other mass retailers.
