This southwest-style serving platter is about 20″ in diameter x 5-1/2″ high. It is constructed from Acrylic, holly, bloodwood, black walnut, cherry and gabon ebony. It contains 494 pieces most of which use epoxy as a bonding agent rather than glue since most glues will not stick well to the acrylic.
Once turned and sanded to 2000 grit, polycrylic clear finish was applied and then waxed. Turquoise pen blanks were utilized to cut the diamonds, and the rest of the pattern was cut from acrylic sheets.
