How do you set the vertical and horizontal depth of lock miter bits using a router table?
Rob Johnstone: Just like porcupines making love … very carefully! (Apparently the wisecrack problem is not fully under control.) I’m not sure what problem you are running into with this bit system, but I can offer two important ideas. First, as with any set-up operation, you need to test the set up on scrap stock.
Second, with this system, it is imperative that the scrap be exactly (and I mean exactly!) the same thickness of the stock you will use on your woodworking project. If it is off by the thickness of a gnat’s whisker, you will run into trouble.
