We had a tradition at my house each year on the first day of school. Like countless other parents, we’d take a picture of the kids – new school clothes and shiny clean faces — standing under the maple tree in the front yard. I love to look at those pictures now that they are all grown. (We did not take a photo of Rachel on her first day of law school this year, or Molly as she began her last (oh, please, please, please let it be her last) year of undergrad.)
It has been a long time since I have been in school of any type, but with the addition of our newly updated woodworking school listing in this issue of the eZine, I have to say that my interest has been piqued. I mean, I don’t know everything about woodworking … I just act like I do. And when you look at the list of schools … the scope of what is available is truly impressive.
So maybe I’ll have a picture of me soon, under our maple tree — with new tennis shoes on and a spiffy new Scooby-Doo backpack — as I embark on my first day of a woodworking school.
Sincerely,
