I often buy end-rolls of sandpaper, either locally or from a catalog supplier. Such rolls vary in width and diameter, and storing them so they are easily accessible is a challenge. My solution is to make a simple cradle, or trough, as shown below. I used 1/2″ scrap plywood and left a gap in the bottom to prevent wood dust from accumulating. For convenience, I write the numbers of the grits on the far side of the cradle.
