Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced a set of aftermarket Lathe Tool Rests with ergonomic designs including a smooth, contoured finger rest to provide support from underneath as well as a rounded surface to support the index finger as it guides the turning tool along the rest. A round, precision-machined ledge allows turning tools to move smoothly back and forth along the rest, resulting in excellent control for the woodturner. The Lathe Tool Rests are available in 4-inch, 6-inch and 10-inch lengths and feature a 5/8-inch diameter mounting post to fit most mini- and midi-lathes.
