Dubbed by Rockler as dust collection’s “missing link,” its new Dust Right® Universal Small Port Hose Kit promises to solve the vexing problem of how to attach a variety of handheld power tools to a shop vacuum. Instead of purchasing a variety of rigid single-size adapters to fit individual tools, this kit includes two sizes of swiveling hose ports that stretch to fit a range of tool port sizes. The 1- and 1-1/2-in. inside-diameter ports (blue in photo) are compatible across popular brands such as Bosch, DeWALT, Festool, Porter-Cable and others. They are flexible enough to fit oblong ports on some tools, too. Their angled design also allows for some clearance of the hose above the work surface to prevent snagging the hose during use.
The kit includes a 1-1/2-in. inside-diameter hose that stretches from 3 to 15 ft., plus a 2-1/4-in. (outside diameter) swivel port for connecting the hose to a standard shop vac or some of Rockler’s other Dust Right accessories.
All three ports reverse-thread into the hose for an airtight, friction fit and require no hose clamps or tools to install.
