The “quick” part of Woodpeckers Inc.’s new Quick-Lift Router Lift is a patent-pending movement that brings the router chuck and bit completely above the table without rotating the crank handle. Instead, a stainless steel lift wrench is inserted, turned less than a quarter of a rotation, and triggers a thread mechanism that allows the change to the router height. When you’ve got it where you want it, rotate the lift wrench back to the starting mechanism to lock things in place. A separate speed wrench can be rotated to move the bit up or down in .001″ or less intervals.
The Quick-Lift comes in both phenolic and aluminum versions fitting a variety of routers. Prices range from $160 to $200. For more info, call 800-752-0725 or visit www.woodpeck.com.
