The greatest hand cleaner isn’t in the garage, it’s in the kitchen. I don’t like to use mineral spirits or lacquer cleaner to clean my hands after staining, or applying finish (gloves aren’t always reliable or handy). I always clean up with salad oil and follow up with dish soap. This also works for doing those greasy jobs on the vehicle. You won’t go back to those expensive hand cleaners. Try this on your brushes too.
Another handy cleaner for brushes is furniture stripper. Just pour some stripper in a jar and loosen the dried paint in minutes. Don’t forget to wash them afterwards.
