My wife had a vision…She wanted to replace the old porch swing with something “prettier”. She sketched out a design, and I refined it in my CAD program, and here is the result. I used some 4/4 quarter-sawn white oak I had left over from another project (and 100 stainless steel screws!). I built a jig for my router to cut the insets for the slats to sit in, so I could cut all four or 6 pieces together. It is fun to design a project from scratch, and see it come together in real life! Our favorite thing to do in the evenings is sit out on the swing and listen to the crickets.
