The first is a Green and Green night stand that I used the cloud lift pattern noted by g&g in their work, also mortise and and tenon joinery with pegs added and ebony pyramids to cover the holes of the pegs. The Japanese images scrollsawed into the sideboards, and highlighted by a battery operated domelight located under the tabletop, are images of love and food. Two things important to the Japanese, which g&g base their designs on.
The other is a chair I made of maple of my own design. I turned the front legs and added the scrollwork on the seat sides. All mortise and tenon joinery. I also burned the flowers into the top back support. The seat started out 2 inches thick, I used a Lancelot to hog out most of the hollow for the curves of the seat. Thanks for looking.
