Last week, Rob was gone fishin’. Several of you wish you could have tagged along. – Editor
“I used to be an avid fisherman. When I lived in New Bern, North Carolina, which is located in the coastal region of the state, I was working in the Hatteras Yacht facility building boats. My friends who I worked with and I spent a tremendous amount of time on the two rivers (Neuse and Trent) and at Cape Lookout catching fish. We would often cook the fish right on the river bank. Ah, the memories!” – Todd Somers
“Savor every second of these (fishing) trips. Three friends and I did this every year from 1980 to 2015 with but a few exceptions due to jobs, health, etc. Today there’s only two of us still hanging on to life, and my line is frayed. One of the things I realized after the fishing trips ended was that the anticipation was longer and often more exciting than the fishing itself! We were like kids during the weeks before Christmas as every trip approached. We fished for largemouth and smallmouth in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, Missouri and Indiana. After the fishing stopped a few years ago, the fish and the memories grew. You have a blessing few get to know. Break a rod!” – Ernie Hatfield
“You know, FedEx and UPS will forward fresh-caught big mouth to Ontario, California. Let me know when I can expect the shipment. Have a great time. Relax and we will see you in a week. How big was the one that got away?” – Bruce Adams
“Perhaps you need to ask your readers about lure-making for your fishing trip, eh?” – RileyG
