We are currently building a new home and will be installing a wide plank antique beech floor – the boards vary in width from 8″ to 14″. Would it be better to glue or nail the floor down?
Michael Dresdner: Nailing allows for more movement, a real advantage on flooring. It will also let you replace boards more easily if anything happens to a part of the floor. (It is inevitable that given enough time, it will.)
