DeWALT has recently launched 11 pneumatic nailers and staplers to handle a variety of fastening applications, including finishing, framing, siding and more. Among them, and of particular value for woodworkers, is the new 18-gauge Brad Nailer (item DWFP12233).
Its standout feature is DeWALT’s Precision Point™ Technology, which provides a much smaller nose than DeWALT’s current offering of nailers, in order to make line-of-sight and nail placement easier. There’s also no need to push the nailer against a worksurface to actuate the tool, which should help to eliminate marring.
A two-step selectable trigger changes the gun’s actuation mode from single-fire to bump firing. And if the nailer should jamb, a flip-style nose plate in front makes it easy to open and clear the errant nail. Dial-a-Depth® control adjusts the amount of brad head penetration to suit either soft- or hardwoods.
The DWFP12233 requires no oiling, for maintenance-free convenience, and it weighs 3.1 lbs. Its side-loading, straight magazine holds up to 100 brads ranging from 5/8- to 2-1/8-in. long. The tool exhausts to the rear and comes with both a swivel-style hose fitting and adjustable belt hook. Also included in the $119 kit are a sampling of nails, extra no-mar tips and a carrying case. DeWALT covers the tool with a 90-day money back guarantee and a one-year free service contract.
