Danray Products LLC recently introduced a line of heavy-duty wood lathe shields, which will also work on small metalworking lathes, to create a protective barrier between the lathe operator and the operation, deflecting chips as well as minimizing the possibility of injury from a thrown workpiece. The shield hinges back and rests at a 45 degree angle for ease in changing the workpiece. The line includes shields for 24″ long and smaller working areas and 42″ long and smaller working areas, as well as rear shields, with prices starting at $64 for a rear shield and ranging to $351 for the shield for the longer working area.
