Is there an easy way of converting imperial measurement to metric for someone who is not good at math?
Carol Reed: Sure: use a calculator and multiply your imperial inch measurement by 25.4 for the equivalent metric measurement in millimeters.
Richard Jones: Apart from the useful knowledge that 10 feet is about 3 meters, 1 foot equals about 303 mm, 1″ is about 25 mm, and 4″ is about 100 mm, the easiest method I know of is to use a ConstructionMaster calculator. On the other hand I’ve been dodging between imperial measure and metric for close on thirty years, and I find that, apart from knowing some useful ballpark conversions, it’s easier to stick with one system or the other.
