Carry Bosch’s New GTS1031 Table Saw with One Hand

Bosch’s new GTS1031 compact 10-in. Table Saw could bring cutting precision to your woodworking or DIY projects wherever you need it, whether that be a second-floor bedroom, the backyard or in a basement shop. That’s because Bosch has lightened the undercarriage and optimized the tool’s center of gravity so you can carry it with one hand. The GTS1031 has an expandable tabletop, which allows rip cuts up to 18 in. wide to the right of the blade.

The company’s SquareLockâ„¢ Rip Fence technology is engineered into this fence, so it glides smoothly, clamps securely to both the front and back rails and squares itself automatically. The saw features a 4 HP (maximum-developed) motor, and the mechanicals are stout enough to support an 8-in. dado set up to 1/2-in. wide.

For safety, the tool has a three-position riving knife and a blade guard that installs without tools. While the tubular-steel base may be designed for carrying convenience, Bosch still equips it with onboard holders for the rip fence, miter gauge, blade-change wrenches, push stick and Smart Guard components so everything goes with it when changing jobsites.

Rubber feet enable the tool to be stored either on its side or flat on the base, and an ergonomic soft grip makes it more comfortable to carry. An accessory base (GTA500) is also available for the GTS1031; it folds flat, and Bosch says it sets up in seconds with tool-free snap locks that hold the saw in place. You can purchase the new saw with a 24-tooth blade through authorized Bosch retailers for $399.
