If you’re like me, you clamp or bolt your benchtop tools near the edge of the bench. Clamping and unclamping them takes time, and bolting them down wastes valuable working space. Here’s a quicker setup idea that keeps your tools moveable.
I bolt each benchtop tool to a larger piece of MDF or plywood to create a base. When I need to use the tool, I set it on a non-slip kitchen pad instead of clamping.
The tool’s weight and oversized base is enough to plant it securely on the bench without clamps. Then, I just slide it off the pad and out of the way when I’m through.
