My name is Mohamad Zaatar from John Edmondson High School in Sydney, New South Wales [Australia], and I am making a tallboy for my major project. I would like to know how to stabilize the tallboy once it is finished so it doesn’t tip once all the drawers are open while they are full. – Mohamad Zaatar
Tim Inman: I’d borrow from the grandfather clock manufacturers. Many of them currently send out new tall case clocks with a tie strap that simply attaches from the back of the clock to an anchor or screw in the wall. It is a simple and effective solution, even if not a very elegant one. Since nobody sees the back side, I’d probably use this system myself. The last one I set up for a customer used nylon “zip” tie material. A small piece of chain or cable, like picture frame hanging cable, would be a good choice, too.
