As I observed our recent celebration of Independence Day, I was struck by the fact that, even with all our underlying challenges and apparent contradictions, the United States is indeed a country worthy of celebrating. Our amazing diversity may be a source of plenty of discord, but it is also the root of our unquestionable strength. And for all of that and more, I am grateful.
Another thing I am grateful for is the generosity of Americans, which is in my opinion the substance of what I know as the “American Spirit.”
With that in mind, I wanted to let you know about an offbeat opportunity that might appeal to that trait. Blending together a celebration of their own with a desire to help in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Skil has come up with a fun opportunity to buy a piece of American history and have those funds go to a good cause. Take a look and decide if you are interested in owning a red, white and blue Skil Model 77 saw. I’ve seen and held one in person and they are surprisingly cool. What could be more patriotic than a U.S. made tool, celebrating an American success story, that will help out a worthy cause? It works for me.
