Hob-knobbing with the rich and famous has never been my thing. When it comes to fashion, my name is rarely the first mentioned. If you scan the gossip columns, you won’t find a picture of me chatting up Meg Ryan or Catherine Zeta Jones (too bad for me!).
But in the smaller world of woodworking, being the editor of the Woodworker’s Journal does offer me the opportunity to call all sorts of famous woodworkers and hold their attention for a while. Recently, for instance, I called Simon Watts, a woodworker and writer who is well known and very well respected. I asked him if he would be interested in contributing to the Journal on a regular basis and to my great pleasure he said yes. Simon will be spending most of his time on the print side of things, but he will also lend an electronic hand from time to time here at the eZine. Check out this issue’s QandA for his first contribution to the cause. And let me say how truly pleased all of us here at Woodworker’s Journal are to add Simon’s name to our masthead. (Even if he’s not Catherine Zeta Jones!)
