The new PalmScope (DCS950) from General Tools & Instruments is the world’s first full-featured pocket-sized video inspection system. About the size of a smartphone, it has five control buttons: power on/off, brightness up, brightness down, video zoom (up to 4X) and video flip (180 degrees), for user friendliness and ease of reading upside-down labels and serial numbers. A clamshell design allows the camera-tipped probe to be coiled safely and conveniently inside the device for storage. The PalmScope can be operated with one hand and allows users to “see” under objects, inside machinery, behind walls and more without the need for disassembly or teardown. It is water-, oil- and dust-proof to IP67 standard. The PalmScope is priced at $149.99.
