Recently I received a Milwaukee model # 6021-21 5″ random orbital sander. I have contacted Milwaukee, and numerous other places looking for a 5″ 5-hole backing pad for this sander. This model had an 8-hole pattern. Milwaukee does not make a 5-hole backing pad, nor does anyone else that I contacted. I am hoping that maybe you or one of your readers might be able to steer me in the right direction, as to a manufacturer, or any other alternatives. I have quite a few 5-hole sanding discs, and I really want to use them up before I buy any new 8-hole discs. Any information would be appreciated. – Stan Mazurek
Chris Marshall: Stan, you can still buy hook-and-loop replacement pads for a Porter-Cable model 333 5-in. random orbit sander. It accepts the five-hole sanding disks you have. There are two model numbers for these replacement foam pads: 13904 and 13905. The difference seems to be how stiff the foam material is. I’m not sure if this pad will fit your Milwaukee sander; you might have to retrofit the screw holes on the pad to fit your machine, but since the pad is under $20, it might be worth a try.
