If you are going to do accurate pattern routing, the most important component is an accurately made template or pattern— for that task, the CNC can’t be beat!
The Mid-Century Modern table in the photo above can be made by hand, by using the CNC router exclusively, or with a combination of the two. The video below demonstrates how to create templates or patterns for the table. The free .tap files for the table pieces can be used with a CNC router to make either the table pieces themselves or templates to make them (using the template routing technique demonstrated in the video). The .tap files are set up to work with a 1/2″-diameter router bit.
