I made this rocking horse for our son. I had purchased the plan years before he was born, both because I liked the design and because I thought it would be fun to make someday. I finished it in time for his third birthday. I made templates for the various pieces, then used the templates and a pattern bit on the router to shape the final pieces. Material is walnut and maple, finished with water-based poly. The plan called for the seat to be maple, but I had some 5/4 walnut that I thought would look nicer.
