I made this 4 (x24) Way Countdown Mathematics Game Box’ for my grandson’s teacher who wanted a more challenging game one than one with the ‘standard) 10×10 ‘keys’.
It is made with all ‘left over’ wood in my garage. Turned out great.

The rules:
4 (x24) Way Countdown Mathematics Game
Countdown helps children with their basic math skills to see how they can come up with the numbers 1 through 6 (or 24) by rolling 2 to 4 dice.
- The game starts with all ‘keys’ in the downward position.
- Taking turns, each of 2-4 players roles the dice to determine which of their numbered key can be raised by adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing the numbers on the dice.
- If double (or triple, or quadruple) 6s are rolled, the player must reset his/her keys back to where they were at the beginning of the game.
- If a 5 and 6 are rolled, the player may either lift the 1 key — as a result of subtracting 5 from 6 — or choose to have his/her opponent’s keys reset.
